According to the Forbes 2022 list, pop diva Rihanna is the youngest self-made billionaire woman in the United States.
For the third year in a row, the 34-year-old singer was recently included on Forbes' annual list of the country's wealthiest self-made women. She now has a $1.4 billion net worth. The only billionaire under 40 on the list, she came in at number 21 overall.
According to CNBC, Rihanna's lucrative music career and business initiatives, Fenty Beauty, Fenty Skin, and Savage X Fenty, have contributed to her wealth. Back in March, Bloomberg reported that the Savage X Fenty lingerie brand was collaborating with advisors on a potential $3 billion or more initial public offering. That business is 30% owned by Rihanna.
The singer also has a stake in Fenty Beauty, which is reported to have brought in $440 million in revenue in 2020.
The nine-time Grammy Award winner admitted to The New York Times' T Magazine in 2019 that she never intended to become wealthy and that hitting financial milestones would make her stop working. She added that she wanted to donate the money to deserving charities.
"My money is never for myself; I always spend it to help someone else. The world can seriously convince you that the wrong things are important, and it can seriously cause you to miss the essence of life and what it means to be alive "According to CNBC, Rihanna told the magazine.
