Will Smith and Chris Rock have reconciled, Diddy claims in his statement "That's Over, I Can Confirm

New Delhi: Rapper Diddy (Sean Combs) "announced" at the Vanity Fair Oscars party that the issue between the two stars is "finished" following Will Smith and Chris Rock's harsh interaction at the Oscars the Academy Award-winning actor's apologies to the comedian. The rapper referenced the Will Smith-Chris Rock controversy when speaking with PageSix, saying the following: "That is not a concern. That is done. I can attest to that." The artist, 52, continued, "All of it is love. They are siblings." When Chris Rock took the stage at the 94th Academy Awards to present the prize for best documentary film, he made a joke about Will Smith's wife, actress Jada Pinkett Smith, being in "G.I. Jane" because of her shaved head. This caused a stir on social media. actor from "The Pursuit of Happyness," who punched Chris Rock before yelling, "Keep my wife's name out of your f*****g mouth." Will Smith then offered his sincere apologies to the Academy and its nominees when accepting the Best Actor trophy.

However, Will Smith apologized to Chris Rock in an Instagram post and stated that he is sorry "I would like to formally apologize to you, Chris, for what I did, and an excerpt from my post mentioned that I was "embarrassed" by what I did. I made a mistake and stepped out of line. I feel ashamed because they did not reflect the kind of man I aspire to be. In a world of love and generosity, violence has no place."

In his remarks, he continued, "All forms of violence are poisonous and destructive. My conduct at the Academy Awards last night was improper and unacceptable. Jokes made about me at work are common, but one regarding Jada's health was too much for me to take, and I became upset."

The situation is currently the subject of a "formal review" by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. According to the Academy's statement to news agency AFP, "We have formally initiated a formal review into the incident and will investigate further action and repercussions by our Bylaws, Standards of Conduct, and California law." Following the Oscars on Sunday, a quick tweet from the Academy's account stated that it does not "condone violence of any sort."

The Academy stated on Twitter on Monday that it "condones no form of violence." According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Chris Rock has chosen not to report a crime.
