When Dhadak was released, Janhvi Kapoor claims she was overconfident: The phrase "Pehli film dekhne

The 2018 movie Dhadak marked Janhvi Kapoor's acting debut. She felt certain that the movie would perform well at the time's box office.

Janhvi Kapoor has discussed the stress she experiences as a result of her films' opening-day box office performances. She acknowledged that with her most recent movie, Good Luck Jerry, which had a direct release on Disney+ Hotstar on July 29, it was a different circumstance because she didn't have to worry about the numbers. When her debut movie Dhadak, in which she co-starred with Ishaan Khatter, was released in July 2018, the actor said that she was even less concerned about the box office results. The actor, whose mother was the late performer Sridevi and whose father is the filmmaker Boney Kapoor, admitted to being overconfident that people would come to see her maiden movie at the very least to see how she is.

Janhvi said to Pinkvilla when asked how she feels on Fridays, "It's different when it's an OTT release. Because you can predict how audiences will respond to your movie when you conduct media previews, the pressure from the numbers is lessened. Thus, as soon as you see the audience's response, you are a Quite uneasy. So, as of Friday night, I have already somewhat heard that people are favourably reviewing the movie and me. I got a nice night's sleep, so To acchi neend aayi thi mujhe. The uncertainty of whether it will bring in 5 crore, 3 crore, or 2 crore was absent.

Janhvi responded, "During Dhadak, I was very clueless, when asked if that pressure existed when the movie first hit theatres. I believe it was naivete, but I also believe there was overconfidence in the idea that "pehli film mein dekhne ke liye to aayenge hi" (people would undoubtedly see my first film to see how I am) would be successful. I therefore felt confident about the figures.

The 2016 Marathi film Sairat's adaptation, Dhadak, brought in about 110.11 crores at the box office. The collection Ghost Stories and the movie Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, both of which had direct OTT releases during the coronavirus outbreak, were the next two works by Janhvi. The only movie that Janhvi appeared in, other from Dhadak, was the financially unsuccessful Roohi from 2021.
