Saving Mumbai Following the Maha loss? Uddhav will meet with BMC officials today to assess the effec

Uddhav Thackeray, the chief minister of Maharashtra and leader of the Shiv Sena, will meet with the corporators of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Friday to rally his followers in the face of the continuing political crisis with the Shiv Sena.

All eyes are on this meeting with the corporators even though Thackeray has been meeting with district presidents to assess the party cadre's position due to the movement of the majority of MLAs to the Eknath Shinde camp.

The next significant division inside the party will occur among BMC corporators, according to a source, after MLAs and MPs.

Leaders of Sena further assert that there would be an impact on the BMC elections, which will take place in October-November, which might further harm the party.

The Sena has controlled the BMC since 1989, making it the most powerful civic organization in the nation.

Sena and BJP sources claim that Eknath Shinde influences Thane, Kalyan-Dombivli, and Ulhasnagar, although Navi Mumbai has historically been the BJP's bastion. The BMC is the only company that might still support the Thackeray-led Sena.

According to a Sena leader, there were originally 84 elected corporators in the BMC, but there are now 99.

With the Sena broken, the BJP has a good chance of winning the mayor's seat in the polls.

Even the leaders of the Thackeray-led Shiv Sena in Thane Municipal Corporation are adamant that they will be eliminated. There would be a significant impact on Ulhasnagar, Kalyan, Navi Mumbai, and Thane. Thane, Kalyan, and Dombivli will be lost to the BJP, while Navi Mumbai will be lost to us. A Shiv Sena insider stated, "We are evaluating the damage now, and there will be some impact in the BMC if the party perceives a definite divide.

"However, there will only be minor damage in Mumbai. The MLAs, not the karyakartas, have split. The actual employees are still there, the boss continued.

According to sources, the CM has met with the heads of all the constituencies whose MLAs have defected to join Shinde.

The BMC opposition, however, has a different viewpoint. Senior BJP members who have firsthand knowledge of how the corporation operates predict that corruption, poor performance, and inadequate service provision would bring down Thackeray's Sena. A top BJP leader continued, "This would have happened even if there had not been a rift within."

According to a senior BJP leader, the Shiv Sena's cadre and leaders will eventually leave the party if they find a better choice as a result of the performance of its leadership.

Even public representatives are looking for several solutions. What happens if the Shinde side obtains the symbol? Which one will be the actual Balasaheb Thackeray Shiv Sena?

Should that occur, will Shinde launch a new party or combine with the BJP?

If so, what will happen to Shinde supporters who want to maintain their Shiv Sainik status?

According to sources, the corporators' meeting will resolve the majority of the uncertainties.
