PM Modi To Inaugurate 216 Feet High Statue Of Equality Today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Hyderabad o Friday to inaugurate the 216 feet tall Statue of Equality in memory of 11th-century Bhakti saint Sri Ramanujacharya.




Statue built-in memory of Ramanujacharya


The Statue of Equality has been built in memory of Sir Ramanujacharya. He was a Bhakti saint of the 11th century and promoted the idea of equality in all aspects of life including faith, caste. According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister Office (PMO), the height of this statue is 216 feet, which is the second tallest sitting statue in the world. About 1800 tonnes of iron have been used in this.


Who was Ramanujacharya Swami


Ramajucharya Swamy was bom in 1017 in sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu. The idol and the entire temple complex have been conceptualized by Tridandi Sri Chinna Jeyar Swamy. His name is taken among the prominent saints of Vaishnava society. At the age of 16, he had made scholar Yadav Prakash his guru in Kanchi. His great-grandfather Alvandaru was a priest of the Srirangam Vaishnava Math.
