Goshta Eka Paithanichi, starring Sayali Sanjeev, won the Best Marathi Film category at the recent 68th National Film Awards ceremony held in Delhi after receiving praise at other film festivals. Sanjeev tells us she hasn't "digested the news" of the victory while discussing it with us.
"I'm still deciding how to respond. It's a good thing. I consider it a blessing to play the lead in this movie. Fal meetha hota hai sabri. We've been working on this for a year and a half now. It's the movie that means the most to me, the 29-year-old claims.
Sanjeev continues, "I'm missing my father," while crying. He had always wanted me to win a prize this significant.
She also describes how Shantanu Ganesh Rode, the film's writer and director, spent seven years developing the script. There was a great deal of commitment and effort put into it. It is guaranteed that viewers will adore this movie. I wasn't sure if it would win any prizes, but I was.
