Margaret Alva will receive support from Telangana's ruling TRS in the race for vice president

According to party leader Keshav Rao on Friday, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) will endorse opposition contender Margaret Alva in the race for vice president. TRS party president K Chandrasekhar Rao has opted to back the unified opposition candidate Alva, according to Rao, the TRS's parliamentary leader.

Rao stated outside of Parliament that TRS MPs have been urged to vote appropriately. In the evening, Alva would meet TRS lawmakers, he continued.

The TRS supported Yashwant Sinha and the opposition in the presidential election as well. The opposition is running Alva against the NDA's nominee Jagdeep Dhankhar. On Saturday, the vice presidential election will take place.
