Kushal Das, the AIFF's general secretary, resigns due to health reasons

Kushal Das, the general secretary of the All India Football Federation, left his position on Wednesday for "health reasons," following a 12-year career that was frequently overshadowed by controversy.

Despite claims to the contrary from many in the football world, Das, who was appointed to the top position in 2010, has been out of work since June 20 due to health reasons.

"Mr. Kushal Das, General Secretary of All India Football Federation, has resigned from his office," said a statement on the AIFF website. The All India Football Federation appreciates his choice and expresses gratitude for his leadership and advice throughout his term in office. He has our best wishes for health and success in his future endeavors.

The statement continued, "Mr. Sunando Dhar, the Acting General Secretary, will be accountable for the day-to-day administration of the Federation."
