Indian Test Team Misses Out On creating History

Under the captaincy of Virat Kohli, the Indian Test team missed out on creating history. Indian also lost the chance to create history by winning the test series for the first time on their soil against South Africa. India suffered a crushing defeat on the fourth day in the third and deciding Test match of the series played in Cape Town.

Indian Test Team Could Not Perform Much

India's experienced batsmen could not do anything special in the series. Especially the former vice-captain of the Test team, Ajinkya Rahane could only score 10 runs in both the innings of the Caps Town test. Cheteswar Pujara certainly contributed 43 runs in the first innings but in the second innings, only 9 runs came off this bat. Apart from this, the Indian batsmen could only score 198 runs in the second innings.

Hed To Bear The Brunt Of Bad Fielding

Indian also had to bear brunt of poor fielding in the crucial match. India had a good chance on Friday, the fourth day of the Cape Town Test. Jaspreet Bumrah was bowling the 40th over of the innings. Keegan Pietresen's easy catch on the fourth ball was dropped by Cheteswar Pujara at the first slip. This became the turning point of the match as South Africa had to score 86 more runs when the catch was missed and Pietersen was on 59. Pietersen scored 82 runs and contributed significantly to the victory.

The bowling of the Indian team was also not special. Indian bowlers had the challenge to restrict South Africa to less the 200 in the fourth innings in Johannesburg but it did not succeed. After this, in cape Town too, South Africa was to be prevented from achieving the target of 212, but on the fourth day, the South African team achieved the target by losing 3 wickets
