Chirwa's bowling action was reported by match officials during the match between Zimbabwe and Papua New Guinea played on Saturday. The video footage of this bowling was sent to the
Competiton Panel for review. In a statement issued by the ICC, the ICC said, " The Competition Panel Found Chira's bowling action to be unlawful and in accordance with Article 6.7 of the ICC Rules, therefore, he was immediately declared international. Has been suspended from bowling in cricket.
In the Under- 19 World Cup, Zimbabwe is in Group- C with Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Papua New Guinea. He has played two matches so far and in one of them, he has won, while in one he has lost. Zimbabwe won the match against Papua New Guinea by 228 runs. In this match, Chirwa took 2 wickets for 11 runs in 7 overs. Also scored 35 runs.
