Focus on the Floods, But Welcome Visitors: The Assam BJP's New Slogan as the Oppn Slams Its Role in

The BJP has been closely monitoring events in the state but has refrained from making overt statements as Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray makes every effort to protect his administration from the uprising of senior Sena leader Eknath Shinde.

The BJP's planning is shown by the saffron party's attendance at Assam's Gopinath Bordoloi Airport to greet Shiv Sena rebels and by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's visit to the Radisson Blu before the rebels arrived.

Assam is considered safe by the federal government, according to BJP insiders, because the party holds sway there and the Sena or Uddhav Thackeray has no power whatsoever. This information was previously published by News18. Insiders also claim that the chief minister is capable of carrying out the operation without incident.

However, Congress and the TMC have not been pleased with the BJP's "hospitality,", especially in the wake of the Assam floods. Assam Congress president Bhupen Bora attacked the BJP, claiming that the chief minister was providing hospitality to MLAs who want to overthrow the government in Maharashtra when 88 people had died from floods in the state and many others were left homeless.
