Elliot Page's First Red Carpet Appearance Since Coming Out As Transgender at the Met Gala in 2021

Elliot Page attended the 2021 Met Gala sporting a Balenciaga suit and sneakers.

The biggest night in fashion is here in New Delhi. The much anticipated Met Gala, which is typically held in May each year, returned for a fall edition, and celebrities seized the chance to dress to impress at fashion's big night at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Simply put, the wait was worthwhile. "In America: A Lexicon of Fashion" is the theme for this year. Elliot Page, a transgender actor, attracted attention on the red carpet in his first significant red carpet appearance following his coming out in December of last year. Elliot Page arrived sporting a suit from Balenciaga and sneakers. He wore a green brooch to provide a splash of color.

At the age of 34, Elliot Page started using the pronouns he/him and they/them. Last year, he revealed his sexual orientation. The following was taken from his open letter: "I adore being transgender. And I cherish my queerness." The Umbrella Academy actor expressed gratitude to his fans and added, "I am incredibly appreciative of all the kind people who have helped me along the way. I can't even begin to describe how amazing it feels to finally accept myself and seek being who I truly am."

The Juno award winner said that he has always "felt like a boy" on the Time magazine cover earlier this year. When he was nine years old, he said, he frequently asked his mother if he "could be a male."

Elliot Page, who is best known for starring in Netflix's The Umbrella Academy and the 2007 film Juno, for which he received an Academy Award nomination, credits the trans community with inspiring him. After coming out as a trans person last year, he received a tonne of support from celebrities in Hollywood and people in the LGBTQ community.
