An artist imagines the myriad hues of paint that come to life on canvas when they perceive the world. And the canvases take on a new perspective when a psychology student picks up the brush. This facet of art inspires the desire of aspiring artist Gauri Minocha, a BA (Hons) Psychology student at Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University, and will be featured in her debut exhibition, The journey has just begun.
"I painted canvases with colors and concepts which only a psychology student can do," says Minocha, "it's called, The trip has just begun, as it truly has for me. Every artistic endeavor is about me. It is worth reading the lovely anecdotes of each piece of art repeatedly. Each work of art has a perspective that seems significant given the stories that are inscribed on its sides.
The 19-year-old talks about her favorite type of work and how excited she is to share it with the world. "I've been exploring a lot with other mediums, like charcoal, acrylic, and watercolor. But out of all of these, mixed media is my favorite. I can do anything and there are no restrictions when using mixed media. What I adore about it is that. To add depth, contrast, and beauty, I've adhered to bills, newspapers, sequins, mirrors, and a lengthy number of other materials to them.
Minocha says, "I want to study fine art or graphic design in one of the best universities overseas, and my future goal includes following an art career. She ends by saying, "Until then, I'll keep participating in shows and doing whatever I can to stay involved in the arts." watercolor
