In June of last year, the incident took place. Dizzee Rascal allegedly threw his former partner to the ground, according to the prosecutors in court.
When the rapper Dizzee Rascal was found guilty of assaulting his ex-partner, he broke a photographer's camera. The grime musician, whose real name is Dylan Kwabena Mills, has denied assaulting Cassandra Jones in June of last year at a private house.
However, as the rapper exited Wimbledon Magistrates' Court, he grabbed the photographer's camera as she attempted to take his picture and flung it across the street, shattering the device.
Attorneys for Jones said that during the argument, the rapper threw his ex-girlfriend to the ground and pressed his head against hers. Mr. Mills has refuted this claim.
The dispute arose when one of their children was late in coming home. Two children were born to Mr. Mills and Ms. Jones before their divorce in February 2021.
Ms. Mills allegedly "barged" his way into the south London home, hit the fridge three times, and then started "screaming and shouting" at Ms. Jones and her mother Dawn Kirk, according to the prosecution. The attorneys added that once Ms. Jones started taping the incident, he also confiscated their cellphones.
The rapper reportedly told the first police officers on the scene, "I'm the aggressor," but later presented a prepared statement during a police interview, according to testimony given to the court. Even Mr. Mills, 37, insisted that Ms. Jones had assaulted him. However, the court was convinced that after bringing the child home late, "he lost his anger," which resulted in a dispute. Next, the judge declared the occurrence an unlawful attack and imputed guilt on Mr. Mills.]
After the decision, Mr. Mills left the court and shattered James Manning's photographer's camera. The photographer told the BBC that the man was irate because he came out of the door without saying anything before pushing his camera.
Manning said, "I believe he said something along the lines of 'go away' or 'get out of my face or something like.
The rapper was blasted for his actions on social media.
"Dizzee Rascal has to address his anger management issues immediately. I believe he has shown the verdict's accuracy "stated Kevin Edger, a user of Twitter.
"That is unnecessary; he needs to unwind. I hope the cameraman has camera insurance because it's not his fault he needs to make a life "another added.
Having originally met in 2011, Mr. Mills and Ms. Jones got engaged in 2018. On April 8, he will be sentenced.
