Ajay Nayak, a former election official for the Bihar government, has been chosen to serve as the returning officer for the Hockey India elections, which will take place on October 9.
The choice was determined at a meeting between the country's existing hockey administrators, the Committee of Administrators (CoA), and representatives of the International Hockey Federation (FIH).
Seif Ahmed, the interim president of the FIH, CEO Thierry Weil, and members of the CoA Justice Anil R Dave, SY Quraishi, and Zafar Iqbal were present at the meeting.
With only a few months until the men's World Cup, which will be contested in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela from January 13 to 29, the FIH unequivocally said that it "does not consider the court as third party." This effectively rules out the possibility of a suspension.
