A top CID officer revealed on Tuesday that a Kolkata-based businessman used hawala to deliver the cash taken from the three detained Jharkhand Congress MLAs. In a raid on the businessman's office in Lalbazar, directly across from the Kolkata Police headquarters, the CID allegedly found Rs 3 lakh in cash, various bank passbooks, and 250 silver coins, according to Mahendra Agarwal.

"The business was closed, and the owner had turned off his mobile phone. We carried out the raid to learn more about his actions," he continued. The official claimed that Aggarwal vanished following the weekend's arrest of the three MLAs at Howrah's Panchla with more than Rs 49 lakh in cash.

Irfan Ansari, Rajesh Kachchap, and Naman Bixal Kongari, three MLAs, have previously been suspended by the Congress becausetraveledthey participated in a plot by the BJP to overthrow Jharkhand's coalition government with JMM and RJD. "All three MLAs traveled to Guwahati with a mediator, where an agreement was made with a powerful individual. Then, the three MLAs took a flight back to Kolkata.

He added that efforts are being made to find the Youth Congress leader and that they have already obtained hotel CCTV footage as evidence of the events that took place there. The Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has also been linked to the purported conspiracy by the Congress, but the BJP disproved these claims, claiming that the grand old party was concealing its corruption once the money was discovered.
