At his social media activities on Wednesday, the 33-year-old all-rounder sparked rumours about his future with CSK.
The 2022 Indian Premier League was difficult for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). In a season marked by substantial tensions off the field as well as on it, the team finished ninth, winning just four of its 14 games. Mahendra Singh Dhoni gave all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja the CSK captaincy prior to the start of the season; however, Jadeja resigned from the position halfway through the campaign owing to disappointing results and a decline in his own performances. The India star also skipped CSK's final four games of the campaign as questions about his future with the team arose.
Following the conclusion of the season and India's return to international competition, the mania surrounding Jadeja and CSK appeared to have subsided; however, Jadeja's social media antics over the past month have renewed worries about his future with the team. On his official Instagram profile, the all-rounder removed every CSK-related post from the 2021 and 2022 seasons. Jadeja also removed a tweet earlier this week from his Twitter account, leading some fans to believe that he is certainly leaving Chennai Super Kings.
The tweet was a response to a franchise post from February 4, 2022. "10 years of Super Jaddu," the original message stated. Jadeja had said, "10 more to go," in his reply.
On May 4, Jadeja played his final match for CSK in the 2022 IPL. Nearly two months later, in the rescheduled fifth and final Test of the series against England, Jadeja made a century. Since then, the all-rounder has competed for India in all game formats.
The 33-year-old is currently playing for the Indian squad in a five-match T20I series in the West Indies. For India's three-match ODI visit of Zimbabwe later this month, Jadeja has been rested.
