International headlines | Boosted two times Jill Biden is in favor of COVID.

The president, who recently contracted the coronavirus and relapsed after recovery, is currently traveling with the first lady.

Jill Biden, the first lady of the United States, tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday despite having had four doses of the vaccination. While Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin is presently ill for the second time, President Joe Biden recently came out of isolation after a protracted illness.

"On Monday, the First Lady tested negative for Covid-19 during her routine testing schedule, but by late that night, she had started to experience cold-like symptoms. She tested negative once more on a quick antigen test, but a PCR test revealed a positive result, according to Elizabeth Alexander, Biden's director of communications.

Alexander noted that Biden, who had her second booster shot in April, was only having minor symptoms. She has been given a course of Paxlovid, an antiviral medication made by Pfizer, and has been told to stay in South Carolina until she has two consecutive negative tests.

President Joe Biden is currently visiting South Carolina with the first lady; the two will later on Tuesday return to Washington. On July 21, President Biden, who had also had two booster shots and two double vaccinations, tested positive for Covid-19. He was quarantined until he retested negative five days later. He was confined to isolation until last week after testing positive after another three days.

The president experienced "rebound Covid positivity," in which people on Paxlovid appear to get well before getting sick again, according to Biden's doctor. The same result occurred when Paxlovid was used to treat Dr. Anthony Fauci's case of Covid-19 in May, the White House Coronavirus Czar.

After speaking with President Biden in late July, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, who is also immunized and boosted, tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday. Austin claimed that even though he had already contracted the coronavirus in January, his immunity made his symptoms "less severe than might otherwise be the case."
