The Bon Accord shopping center's owners have filed for bankruptcy.
The Covid epidemic, growing expenses, and "strong" competition are reported to have caused "unsustainable" cash flow issues for Guernsey-based Aberdeen Retail 1 Ltd and Aberdeen Retail 2 Ltd.
Now we are looking for a buyer.
Administrator Azets stated that up until any sale, the city center shopping area would carry on as usual.
The Bon Accord center was constructed in 1990, and in 2020 it joined with the neighboring St. Nicholas center.
It has locations for well-known retailers like Next, Boots, and Waterstones.
James Fennessey, a partner in Azets reorganization, said the transaction provided a "very powerful brand name and recognition."
We want to try and find a buyer as soon as possible, he said.
