Supply chain | As supply chain concerns affect teams, football uniform sales are delayed.

Fewer than half of English Football and Premier League clubs have both their new home and away kits available to buy online ahead of the season, as manufacturers face supply chain issues.

Only 44 of the 92 clubs have both of their 2022–23 season's uniforms available for purchase.

Crystal Palace and Leeds United are two Premier League clubs that don't have either uniform on hand.

Some have attributed the delays to Covid-related disruption and production closures in Asia.

It implies that some teams won't have their new uniforms available before the start of the season, which is set to begin on August 5 in the Premier League, August 29 in League One and League Two, and August 29 in the Championship.

the following 92 clubs are among the top four leagues:

While orders for his team's new home and away uniforms were placed quickly after the club approved the kit designs in October, according to one English Football League top executive who wished to remain unnamed, neither was yet available for purchase due to Covid disruption at Asian factories.

He noted that some clubs will experience affect financial damage but that it was difficult to estimate the cost until it saw the impact on sales.

We can control our cash flow, but I'm sure it will affect some clubs' cash flow because July is a month with little cash entering the business, he said.

"That hasn't led to any catastrophes for us at this point. But I suppose it's a challenge for some clubs."

If you're a parent or grandparent who typically would have been able to purchase a kit for a young child's birthday in July, you've been forced to wait, he added.
