Akshita Gandhi, a multi-media artist, offered the following advice in an interview with HT Lifestyle:

1. Explore and Experiment - The most crucial thing to keep in mind is that mixed media involves researching and experimenting freely with many media. You are free to use virtually anything and anything you can think of or see, including textures, textiles, photos, magazine cutouts, collages, and almost anything else. You can even make 3D pieces and are not limited to a certain amount of mediums.

2. Have a base -It is crucial to start with a basis, whether it be made of paper, canvas, or cardboard, so you have something to hold the other layers as you add them.

3. Learn new techniques -To develop as an artist, be sure to continue learning new talents and hone your existing ones. You never know what new technique can improve your work and lead you down a completely uncharted path. Gaining complacency will undoubtedly be detrimental.

Madhavi Adaljia, an artist who makes custom artwork out of resin, mosaic, and canvas, added the following advice to the list:

1. Allow your ideas to flow -There are no restrictions in mixed media! Permit yourself to create art from the experiences of your life. Since there is no age restriction, your artwork can have a range of explanations and can seem expressive and deep in its ways. You have the freedom to merge the older elements with the contemporary ones as and when some idea pops into your head.

2. a Basic understanding of drawing and painting -Colors have a significant role in every piece of art. It is crucial to at least have a basic understanding of the many emotions and color palettes because there are no rules in mix-media. It won't hurt you or your art to have a basic grasp; in fact, having some prior knowledge will help you communicate your ideas and emotions more effectively.

3. Tools -Mixed-media artwork is not particularly pricey. You don't need to be concerned about exceeding your requirements. Even the simplest tools, such as knives, brushes, toothbrushes, sponges, straws, bubble wrap, markers, and crayons—or even just your fingers—can be used to create a masterpiece. But bear in mind to have these supplies around at all times so you can immediately use them when the inspiration strikes.
