Akhilesh Shares Video, Tears Into BJP, and Brick Wall Collapses With UP MLA's Push | WATCH

Updated: Jul 18

Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party, attacked the BJP on Friday by posting a video on social media that showed how poorly a college building in Uttar Pradesh was being constructed.

A brick pillar at a building site in the Pratapgarh area of the state comes tumbling down in the video sent to Twitter by Samajwadi Party MLA RK Verma. According to sources, the video was taken on Thursday while the congressman was inspecting the government engineering college that was still under construction.

The worried MLA can be heard mockingly saying, "This will be a four-story building," on the video.

"The BJP government has created a wonder of corruption. Akhilesh Yadav tweeted in Hindi, "The bricks of the engineering college were put together without cement.

Another MLA, Dr. R. K. Verma, who posted another video in which he continued to look at other areas of the construction site and saw more brick walls crumbling, supported the notion that the structures in Uttar Pradesh were badly constructed.

Such subpar building effort will not secure the youth's future. This is comparable to planning for their demise. He wrote in his tweet, "This is a glimpse of the corrupt government apparatus at the engineering institution being developed in Raniganj assembly.

Before this, the leader had accused the BJP, which is in power, of abusing its influence in the byelections for the Lok Sabha seats of Azamgarh and Rampur, alleging that attempts were made to obstruct voting. Although the Election Commission was apprised of the developments, according to him, the election apparatus did nothing. He claimed that the party workers had been mistreated and unfair pressure put on them to support BJP candidates.
