According to several news sources, Tesla CEO Elon Musk responded on Friday to Twitter's lawsuit that aimed to compel him to finish his $44 billion acquisition of the platform.

Musk's attorneys filed a complaint with the Delaware Court of Chancery accusing Twitter of hiding information regarding false accounts, a topic that has long been a source of concern for Musk, as well as of causing delays, giving evasive answers, and erecting technical barriers. Additionally, the brief questioned Twitter's request for a hurried trial, asserting that it would take months to get material from Twitter and to depose multiple witnesses regarding phony accounts.

Back in April, Musk promised to pay $54.20 per share for Twitter, and the company accepted those conditions after changing its mind about the acquisition. However, since the billionaire announced a week ago that he was walking away from his agreement to purchase the company, the two parties have been preparing for a judicial battle.

The lawsuit rehashed several other charges Musk had previously brought up, including the allegation that Twitter broke the acquisition agreement when it let go of two senior managers without first alerting Musk.

The Delaware Court of Chancery regularly hears business disputes between the numerous corporations, including Twitter, that is incorporated there. This is where Twitter filed its lawsuit.
