16.257 people receive jobs through the PM Employment Scheme, exceeding the Q2 target.

The state of Uttar Pradesh has achieved 108% of the target set under the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) for the second quarter of the fiscal year 2022–23 in the first quarter alone, which appears to be a significant accomplishment for the state's government in terms of employment generation. According to an official, the Yogi Adityanath government also met 95% of the goal for establishing small-scale units under the program.

According to Principal Secretary for Micro, MSME, Khadi, Village Industries Export Promotion, Navneet Sehgal, the government hired 16,257 unemployed persons in the first quarter alone, exceeding its goal of employing 15,000 youngsters by the end of the second quarter of 2022–2023 by 8%.

Hari Ram Singh, the person in charge of the PMEGP plan, disclosed that while 1,636 units were constructed by the government, or 95% of the target, under the PMEGP scheme, 1,850 units were supposed to be set up in the state by the second quarter.

According to Singh, small and micro businesses are springing up quickly in rural regions thanks to the PMEGP. Of the 2,194 applications that were granted, 1,636 have already been operational, and work is still being done on the other units.

Additionally, of the approximately Rs 7 crore obtained for setting up industries, approximately Rs 6 crore have been invested thus far. 15,090 units of Rs 1,982 crore were built in the state's rural districts over the past five years. In addition, 1,60,166 unemployed people have received new work.

It is important to note that the Yogi government has made it a priority to give unemployed young people jobs and to motivate them to start small micro-businesses that would create jobs. The work on the Chief Minister's visionary proposal to encourage the establishment of small and micro industries in the state is also under his supervision.

The PMEGP program was started by the central government to give the nation's unemployed youth work options. The unemployed youth of the nation can access loans through this program ranging from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 25 lakh to launch industrial companies. The beneficiary of the micro businessesprogramprogramprogram additionally receives a subsidy of up to 35%.
